Bitter sweet for the team from St Bees as they win the inaugural National Junior League Finals. The school closes for good at the end of term after 430 years on the orders of the governors. The league was played in great spirit around the country with over 50 school teams taking part in the first year. With the wealth of schools golf courses the idea behind the league is to nurture new golfers into the only game for life.

Merchiston lost out on countback in the team event but came good in the Individual with Hamish Brown taking the individual trophy

The golf on show was exceptional with a very close scores, with the top 5 school all within a few points

Radley College Warden Mr Moule presented the trophies and prizes to the winners. All parents and teachers commented on the fantastic condition of the golf course set in a Capability Brown landscape. Arguably the finest school golf course in the UK. A huge thanks to Kevin Reid, Mr Moule  and all the staff at Radley for making this such a memorable event. Already looking forward to next year
