Wellington College took the Kings Acre Trophy with Merchiston taking the Nett Trophy

The Scottish Open took place at Kings Acre on Monday (1st October), with over 70 players from all over Scotland, England and even Northern Ireland. The weather conditions were up and down with patches of rain and sun, however the constant strong and cold wind made it difficult for all. The course was in immaculate condition, with the greens being very true and a good pace.
The format was stroke-play, with teams of 3 people and 2 scores to count. The overall gross team winners were Wellington College, with Jack Salis (70) and Chris Thomas (74) combining a score of 144. Nett team winners were Merchiston with a combined score of 140, combining scores from Calum Hill (70) and Morgan White (70). Gross U15 team winners were Loretto D with a score of 155, and the net U15 team winners were Loretto E with a score of 162.
The individual winners were as follows; Individual gross winner on count-back was Calum Hill (Merchiston) with a fantastic score of 70, following closely behind was Jack Salis (Wellington College) with a score of 70. In 3rd gross was Alisdair McDougall from St Leonards with a score of 72. In the individual Nett competition, Cameron Whyte (Stewarts Melville) took 1st place with a Nett 64, and second Nett went to Moritz Bock (Loretto), who shot a 67 nett.
In the U15 age group the 1st gross went to Michael Hirmir who shot a 71. Following closely in second gross was Hamish Mills with a 73 gross. The U15 Nett 1st prize went to John Butler form loretto, bringing in a score of 66 net.
